Ulf Johansson Werre – John Högman Quintet
”Father and Sons Having Fun”
PB7 034
The Ulf Johansson Werre – John Högman Quintet was born in the spring of 2016 when bass player Magnus Marcks asked Ulf and John to do a lunch concert with their sons Oscar Johansson Werre on drums and Hampus Adami on trombone.
Ulf piano and trombone and John saxophone are since the 1970s well established jazz musicians on the Swedish jazz scene. Both Oscar an Hampus are students at the Royal College of Music in Stockholm but already on their way to make name for themselves as accomplished players.
This record consists of nine songs written by Ulf and John and three standards, Night in Tunisia, Love for sale and a quite unusual Duke Ellington tune called Black Butterfly.
